Foton pushes the bar of customer service

If you’re a Foton owner who lives a bit off the grid, you need not worry about after-sales service.

United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), the exclusive distributor of Foton vehicles in the country recently launched a program that aims to bring the company’s after sales service right on your doorstep. Dubbed as the EC (Easy and Convenient) Mobile Service Truck Program, this allows trained and authorized mechanics to fix or service your Foton vehicle at your convenience and in the comforts of your garage using genuine parts. “ We are aware that not all of our customers are in close proximity to a dealership. This EC Mobile Service program aims to address this predicament,” explained Rommel Sytin, UAAGI president.

Each Foton dealer will have its own custom built oton Thunder EC Service truck for its customers.

Foton invited select members of the motoring media to its sprawling assembly and manufacturing facility at the Clark Freeport Zone to demonstrate its EC Mobile Service Truck Program. Also in attendance were dealer principals from all over the country. Foton design engineers outfitted and customized a Foton Tornado truck and transformed it into a service office that showcases essential tools to be able to perform preventive maintenance schedules (PMS). With its specialized tools and trained mechanics, the EC Service Mobile truck can conduct repairs ranging from oil change, up to major repairs like underchassis and engine replacement. These services can be done with the aid of special equipments including a 3.5-kilowatt generator set to power tools such as a 1.5-hp air compressor, an impact wrench for quick tire change; two large capacity oil pans to avoid spillage (the truck has a built-in used oil depository); and a creeper for underchassis maintenance repair and a plug-in ECU diagnostic computer to electronically assess the extent of the vehicle’s damage. The EC Mobile Service truck has a swing-up canopy and dropside panel, which functions as a work bench for the mechanics. It is also equipped with two sets of 220-volt outlets, anti-skid flooring, first-aid cabinet and spotlights for nightime emergency repair services.

“We believe that our patrons should not be inconvenienced by having to bring their Foton vehicles to our network of dealers for PMS. This program will also alleviate PMS dealer traffic and will enable us to be more efficient in providing customer care services,” added Sytin. At present, the EC Mobile Service truck is offered in select Foton dealerships, but Sytin pointed out that this after-sales program will soon be available nationwide across Foton’s network of dealerships.

“The EC Mobile Service program underscores a commitment we have made since the beginning of our operations here, one of constant improvement in the quality of our customer service,” added Sytin.

Foton PH currently has 27 dealers nationwide from the establishment of new dealers in Cainta, Rizal; Bauang, La Union; Talisay, Cebu; and Matina, Davao. In December, a new dealer facility in Pasig City will be opened. Sytin also revealed that by 2020, UAAGI aims to have 37 dealerships under its belt. Foton is Asia’s largest manufacturer of passenger and commercial vehicles such as vans, pick-ups, SUVs, light-duty trucks, heavy-duty trucks and heavy machinery.
